The Joint Operations (JO) Mission Area focuses on the activities where government entities must work together to address national security challenges through the implementation of common and intersecting functions. The challenging domains of homeland defense, the global war on terrorism, forensics, and combating-weapons of mass destruction are interrelated and require coordinated strategic planning for joint operations and analyses. JO possesses significant capabilities and a broad network that enables it to address these domains and other critical national priorities. Within these domains, proliferation security, forensics enterprise transformation, support/reconstruction/stabilization, defense support to civil authorities, critical infrastructure protection, and partnership security cooperation are fundamental to the protection of our Nation’s interests.
