Analytic Services Hosts General James F. Amos as the November Installment of its Distinguished Speaker Series

Arlington, VA – United States Marine Corps Commandant General James F. Amos addressed Analytic Services Inc. in the latest installment of its Distinguished Speaker Series. As Commandant, General Amos is responsible for guiding a force of 276,700 civilians and Marines in counterinsurgency efforts, maritime security operations, foreign mission protection, humanitarian assistance, and partnering with allies worldwide.

Given the recent decision to deploy a rotational Corps contingent to Australia and pending budgetary decisions that will determine the force of the future, General Amos’ remarks were both timely and illuminating. Topics covered the consequences of personnel cuts, the renewed focus on the Pacific theater, and the impact of eliminating certain expeditionary platforms. On the note of how he personally describes the state of the Corps, General Amos offered, “We are forward-deployed and forward-engaged: shaping, training, deterring and responding to all manner of crises. We create options and decision space for our Nation’s leaders. Alert and ready, we respond to today’s crisis, with today’s force … TODAY."

“As we daily engage in supporting national decision-makers, having General Amos personally deliver his vision for our country’s principal crisis response force was a true honor”, said Thomas Benjamin, Senior Vice President of Analytic Services.
