ANSER Welcomes Ms. Elaine Duke to its Board of Trustees

Falls Church, VA (March 18, 2016) – ANSER is pleased to announce that Ms. Elaine Duke joined its Board of Trustees effective March 1, 2016. Ms. Duke brings a wealth of experience and in-depth understanding of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and our nation’s homeland security enterprise. Ms. Duke’s 28 year career with the Federal government culminated with her confirmation as DHS Under Secretary for Management and prior to her appointment as Under Secretary, Ms. Duke served as Deputy Under Secretary for Management.

Ms. Duke assisted in the stand-up of the DHS while at the Transportation Security Administration, where she served as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Acquisition. Ms. Duke spent a great deal of her career with the U.S. Navy where she held various acquisition positions of progressive responsibility. She served as the Director, Office of Contract Policy as well as Deputy Director of the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Contracts Division of the Naval Sea Systems Command.

Ms. Duke holds a BS degree in Business Management and a MBA. During her service with the Federal Government, Ms. Duke received the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award, the DHS Secretary’s Medal, and the Transportation Security Administration Silver Medal for Customer Service, the Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service, and the US Coast Guard’s Distinguished Public Service Medal.

“We are fortunate to have such an experienced homeland security practitioner join the Board,” said Carmen Spencer, ANSER’s President and CEO. Ms. Duke stated that “she looks forward to joining the Board and applying her homeland security experience in ways that continue to help protect the nation.”
