2018: Celebrating 60 Years of Service

On November 16, 2018, ANSER staff and guests marked the company’s 60th anniversary with a gala dinner dance at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal and danced to live jazz music.

Among the 300 guests were 15 ANSER retirees, the Board of Directors, and the leadership of Advanced Technology International (ATI), ANSER’s subsidiary in South Carolina.

In honor of Veterans Day, the evening began with a video of longtime analyst Rich Saunders being recognized for his military service at a recent Washington Capitals hockey game. Then it was announced that ANSER had earned the Department of Labor’s 2018 HIRE Vets Medallion for our commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans. Finally, veterans in the crowd were asked to stand so they could be honored with a round of applause.

Two dozen employees were honored for their years of service to ANSER. The longest serving was graphic artist Jack Butler at 40 years!

Prior to the anniversary celebration, the company’s annual awards were presented: the Boyd Impact Award, the Oliver Analytic Impact Award, the Earls Community Service Award, the Cuneo Business Development Award, and the Hatch Annual Excellence Awards. Dr. Earls, Mr. Cuneo, and Gen. Hatch were in attendance to help present the awards named in their honor.

For the anniversary festivities, the Media Services Team produced a 13-minute video depicting important events from the company’s 60-year history. The video was shown to the assembled crowd on two giant screens. Guests were also given copies of a book documenting key projects undertaken by Analytic Services and the Homeland Security Institute over the last 10 years.
