For over 25 years, ANSER has supported senior leader oversight and decision-making by providing timely and accurate information and analyses. We have helped the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security improve operational efficiency while addressing programmatic challenges, removing barriers to progress, and protecting program funding. ANSER also provided around-the-clock support and guidance to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense to aid in the rapid response to the May 2015 anthrax shipment event. The ANSER team’s efforts resulted in the publication of new chemical/biological safety and security policies and procedures that will reduce the future likelihood that potentially dangerous bacterial samples are mishandled.
